Dear Pastor,
If you are like me, you will not marry a couple until they have completed premarital counseling. Years of observation as well as research data help to convince me that premarital counselling works! Couples who complete premarital counseling before marriage report a lower rate of divorce than those who did not have the benefit of counseling. (2005)
However, you and I both know that premarital counselling is one of the most time-consuming functions of pastoral ministry. Finding time in your schedule provide premarital counselling may be a real challenge for you!.
Well, there is good news! After three decades of premarital counseling experience, I am offering premarital counselling services to your church and ministry. Not only will you have professional counselling resources at your disposal, you will save precious ministry hours.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
STEP #1
A couple request your services for marriage. Once you contract with the couple, you refer them to me and I schedule with them the process of premarital counselling services.
STEP #2
The couple completes a Taylor Johnson Temperamental Analysis, which is analyzed in a private session with the counselor. (Small fee required)
STEP #3
The engaged couple joins with other couples for a weekend premarital counselling course (6-8 hours). Engaged couples are lead through an exciting journey of exploring the following topics:
·Assessment
·Men and Women: Enjoying the Difference
·Communication Skills
- Conflict Regulation
·Relational and Sexual Intimacy
God's Dream For Marriage
·Other
The topic of “God’s Dream for Marriage” may be built upon in private session with you. This allows you an opportunity to meet with the couple on a spiritual level before the ceremony takes place.
The weekend is biblically based and you can be assured that God's Word takes precedence. You, as the pastor can take comfort in knowing that you will be doing your best to build God-honoring, and lasting marriages.
So, here is the bottom line question. How much is all this going to cost? Including a fee for psychological testing (TJTA), the cost per couple is $200.00. This fee will be requested from each couple at the time of booking their premarital sessions.
I am sure you will want to consult with your board, but, when you are ready, contact me and I can give you a more thorough look at my content and practice. God Bless you as you seek to build strong marriages
